Woolens
It has long been known that woolen fabrics shrink upon being washed in overly warm water, but nobody had figured out why this was, or the ramifications of this phenomenon until a lone researcher, D. Patigonico made a startling discovery while liberating the small island of Tonga, in the south pacific.
In amongst the burned buildings, bombed civilians and ruined rainforest, he came across a cluster of what he thought initially to be cotton bolls. On closer inspection however, these proved to be sheep, no larger than mice! Amazed at his discovery, Mr Patagonico immediately had some shipped to his labratory in Beunos Vistas (Just outside of Beunos XP.) However, his colleagues reported that there was nothing odd about these sheep, indeed,t hey were perfectly normal, including the size. Initially assuming a mixup, and alter corruption, Mr Patagonico shipped off several more specimens, each time being told only normal sheep had arrived.
While an ordinary researcher would have given up, assuming that someone was 'fooling them around' Mr Patagonico immediately grasped the truth, in the warm, tropical climate,t he sheep had simply shrunk, expanding back to proper size in the more temperate and dry environment of his homeland.
He immediately set out for Antarctica, where his suspicions were confirmed, after what he initially though to be snowdrifts turned out to be wild sheep, thin, but thriving in the cold dry land.
Despite receiving little attention or acclaim for this remarkable discovery, Mr Patagonico says he is not bitter, possibly due to his success in the business arena, with his company in lambchops and sweaters doing a brisk trade.
