Ziblink waddled her way across the deserted tarmac. It was late afternoon and the complex was unexpectedly deserted. The sun beat down, oppressively hot to the avian who had come, via a fourteen hour flight from the middle of a wet and cold winter, into this blazing summer. Behind her, coming from a far more temperate climate, her assistant struggled not with heat, but with a large backpack and several clipboards.

Eventually they were able to seek shade under the roof of a likely looking building. There was still no sign of anyone, inside or out. As their eyes adjusted to the darkness in the room the two visitors tried to figure ou
Time goes on
Time goes on

I sit here with those aged by time,
Those whose youth has passed.
Yet here with me they sit as well,
Through the years they're holding fast.

Though eyes are dim and limbs are weak,
And loved ones have passed for some,
Still yet they have tremendous faith,
There's more life yet to come.

What will happen in days hence,
When their life is done?
They continue in the world,
Still time hurries on.

I hope I have such fortitude,
When I am old as they,
And live my life as they have done,
Day by passing day.

May we all now recognize,
That they were once young too.
And whatever fate finds them now,
Will in time find us t
