Gold leaf

Description

Some gold leaf I got whilst working in my job at a cardboard factory. Said leaf is (Or was) stamped on, glued then stamped onto an expensive box. (It has to be expensive to have actual gold stamped on it.)

You may wonder how I got my dirty little mitts on actual gold, but do realize that this stuff is thinner than tinfoil, in fact it's only a few hundred atoms thick, which you can sort of see in the picture, there's no width at all to the foil.

The foil cannot be touched, it tears, and it will float in air it's so thin and light. The total amount of foil seen in this image amounts to about a tenth of a gram of gold, just over $3 worth.

Box factories, more interesting than you'd think.

Wow, that must be some box!
And yeah, I have no doubt a cardboard box factory is interesting.
